Our Exceptional Team Members
Tonya has been a wonderful addition to our team, joining us in August 2019. She began her dental profession in the Certified Dental Assisting program at Germanna Community College, graduating in 2016. She continued her education in the Dental Hygiene program through Northern Virginia Community College, graduating with honors in 2019.
Tonya is passionate about helping her patients achieve optimal oral health while recognizing and assessing their overall health. Tonya is amazing in reassuring patients who have a fear of dental procedures by taking the time to talk and listen to their concerns. Tonya’s biggest passion is having the opportunity to touch people’s lives through education and clinical practice, as well as giving them a smile they can be proud to share with the world.
Tonya is very active in professional organizations on a State and National level. She is currently the Vice President of the Virginia Dental Hygienist’s Association.
When outside the office, Tonya enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Kevin and her three children Christopher, Bailey, and Noah, as well as their 2 dogs Guinness and Zeke and new kitten Oliver.
We are excited that Julie has joined our practice as a hygienist in December 2020. Julie began her career in dentistry while still attending Chancellor High School, enrolled in the Dental Assisting program through the Spotsylvania Career and Technical Center. She then worked as an assistant which led her to enroll in the first Dental Hygiene class offered by Germanna Community College. She graduated with honors in 2000.
She feels her greatest reward in all her years as a Dental Hygienist is connecting with patients and helping them to feel better about themselves. She is a people person and treats her patients like family. She has a strong belief and takes an active roll in helping patients achieve and maintain health and recognizes the unique roll she plays in peoples overall health.
Julie and her husband Ricky of 25 years have two adult children, both of whom are recently engaged. They also have recently adopted Duncan, a Cane Corso, who is now the baby in the family. Along with raising her family over the years Julie's favorite pastime has been serving at church and volunteering in the local community doing mission work. Currently most of her free time is dedicated to pursuing a Masters Degree in Christian Counseling and spending time with her husband.
Julie is very excited about joining our great team here at Piedmont Dental at Lake Anna and looks forward to meeting you soon.
